Frequently asked questions

Is the image resizer really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark, and no fee. Your browser does the work, so there is no per-image charge.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. All resizing happens in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image files never leave your device.
What formats are supported?
You can resize any image format your browser can display, including PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, and BMP. Output formats are PNG, JPEG, and WebP. Animated GIFs are resized as a still image (first frame).
Will resizing reduce quality?
Shrinking an image keeps it sharp in most cases. Enlarging beyond the original size can look soft, since no new detail is created. For JPEG and WebP output, the quality slider controls compression.
Can I resize many images at once?
Yes. Select multiple files and every image is resized with the same settings. You can download each resized image individually or all of them together as one ZIP file. Very large images are limited only by your device's memory.
